Madrid

Madrid Tapas Tour

Four taverns in Madrid's historic center, on foot, with tapas and wine at each

Food & Wine, Local Culture

Why We Love it

The right first night in Madrid — dinner and your bearings at the same time, spread across the city's best-known taverns rather than one restaurant table.

Spellbound Images & Cut Outs - 36 copy.

The Experience

Three hours on foot through Madrid's historic center with a gastronomic guide, stopping at four of the city's best-known taverns for tapas and wine.

Each stop has its own character and its own specialties. Between them the guide fills in Madrid's past and its traditions, and why tapas and wine sit at the center of how Spain eats.

It runs at lunchtime or in the evening, 12:30 pm or 7:30 pm, and it is 18 and over. Come hungry: four taverns adds up to a meal.

My pick for a first night in Madrid, when you want dinner and your bearings at the same time, and for anyone who would rather eat in four places than sit in one.
