Paris
Private Half-Day Versailles Palace
Four hours at Versailles with a private guide, two of them inside the palace
Sightseeing
Why We Love it
The Hall of Mirrors and the Queen's bedroom are where the two hours go — France was governed from these rooms until 1789.

The Experience
Four hours with a private car and an English-speaking interpreter-guide, collected from your hotel in Paris and driven out to the Château de Versailles.
Two of those hours are spent inside with your guide: the King's Grand Apartments, the Queen's bedroom, the Hall of Mirrors. Louis XIII built a hunting lodge here; his son chose the same site for the palace, and ran France from it until 1789. The rest of the time is yours in the formal gardens à la française. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons between 21 June and 22 September, the Grandes Eaux music and water show is covered by the entrance fee. Admission and the reservation fee are paid separately from the tour price.
My pick for anyone who wants Versailles explained properly but not at the cost of a full day in Paris, and for travelers who would rather be collected from their hotel than make their own way there.
